The Christian Path to Freedom and Truth
If you have come to realize the freedom promised in the Bible—the freedom of the Christian, the freedom from the bondage of religious law, and the freedom to worship Jehovah through Jesus Christ alone—then you are already standing at the beginning of a difficult road.
If you have come to see that jw.org is not your spiritual friend, but instead a system of control that places men between you and Jehovah…
If you desire to worship Jehovah in a clean and pure way, free from the traditions and commandments of men…
If you want to serve Jehovah in spirit, truth, and love…
Then understand this clearly: the path ahead will not be easy.
Once the Holy Spirit opens your eyes, breaking free from an organization comes at a cost. But the price is well worth paying.
The apostle wrote:
Hebrews 2:3 (BSB)
“How shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? This salvation was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard Him.”
You may lose friendships within the organization. Many who claim to love you may ultimately prove more loyal to the organization and its leaders than to you as a fellow believer. In time, they may cut you off completely. You understand this already, because you have likely seen it happen to others.
Your spouse may think you have lost your mind. Your friends may question your sanity. If you attempt to share what you have discovered, many will refuse to listen and may label you an apostate.
But if you have reached this point, it is probably because you have spent many hours studying, praying, and seeking truth. The Holy Spirit has guided you this far, and Jehovah has not abandoned you.
Jesus himself warned that this would happen.
Matthew 10:36 (BSB)
“A man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.”
One of the hardest parts of this journey is the period of mental and emotional conflict that often follows. Your old beliefs will clash with what you now understand to be true. This inner battle can feel overwhelming. You may struggle to comprehend how you believed certain teachings for so many years.
That pain is real.
But after enduring that tribulation, your mind gradually begins to heal. The years spent following men instead of Christ will begin to lose their hold on you. Like the apostle Paul, you may eventually look back on those things as worthless compared to knowing the truth.
Jehovah sets people free when they place their trust fully in Him and in His Son.
Then comes a peace unlike anything else—a peace that only the Holy Spirit can provide. You begin to recognize Jehovah’s guidance in your daily life. Your faith no longer belongs to an organization. It belongs to God.
And I can tell you this with certainty:
There is nothing better than that. Nothing.
